Rarely do I write app reviews but this app is so awesome it is worth taking the time to share my experience. I have used SplashShopper for over 10 years but they abandoned updating the app so it is not compatible with iOS 11. I was dismayed at the thought of having to find a new app and spent a few weeks trying about a dozen of the better ones. It turned out to be a blessing that I needed to find a new app. AnyList does SO much more than I had before and the copy/paste feature made bringing in all my dozens of lists pretty painless. It did a good job of categorizing my grocery lists during paste.
Even for lists that it did not know category, it is so easy to do bulk category change so was fast and easy. I have never used a recipe tool in a list app but have to say I LOVE it. Importing from all my fave recipe sites is a snap and then a few taps to get them in the grocery list is fantastic. The list share is amazing-saves so much time in past that my husband and I would spend syncing up our lists. Other great features are Apple Watch integration, adding photos and keeping track of prices. There is so much more. I started with free version but happily paid for family subscription-well worth it for all the time it will save me.
This is a must have and we will use it daily. Thank you for all the hard work to create such a killer app.
I've been using the free version for two years and my husband has it on his phone also. Whenever I put something on the grocery list on my phone or iPad, it also is on his phone and he can see it when he goes to the store. I purchased another recipe program for my PC two years ago and they kept raising the price every year, ($80), it has gotten so steep I could not afford it.
Then I remembered this little app has a recipe file.and more. I figured for the money what did I have to lose so I bought the family plan, OH MY GOODNESS! It is amazingly easy and so full featured. I'm telling everyone I know. My only suggestion to the developer is that I want to send my recipes to an online site, Lulu I think it is, to print out recipe books for my children and grandchildren for Christmas next year. I'd like to see that featured added, if it is there, I have not seen it.
For me, one of the best apps I've purchased, and I purchase very few apps. I can also see my recipes on my tablet with this app.
It is so convenient, at the store when I remember I want to make something for dinner and I can't remember all the ingredients, my recipes are on my phone, I open the app, find the recipe and the list of ingredients are there. I can also add ingredients to my shopping list when in a recipe. You will love it. I use this app everyday for my to-do list and grocery list. It is extremely robust, yet simple to use, and I’ve noticed over the past 3 years that many new features have been added to help especially when making a grocery list. Like the ability to input specific quantities of items along with units (for example 2 lbs of ground beef, or 4 count of apples). The newest addition I’ve noticed is the ability to assign different grocery stores to things you want to buy.
Rather than setting up a grocery list for each individual grocery store I want to visit, I can assign a grocery store to an item and have all items in just one master grocery list. I also have the optional subscription add-on to be able to access and edit this list from my laptop as well, which is really nice to be able to do during, say, a slow period at work so it doesn’t look like I’m just playing with my phone at my desk, and I can create a grocery list to shop with right when I leave work.
I also find the ability to share lists with another person as crucial. Right now my husband and I are trying to both go through a shared to-do list before our baby arrives. Seeing things getting crossed off in real-time is awesome and gives me a sense of satisfaction!
Advertisement Just because a billion humans do something every day, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are grocery stores across the globe packed with shoppers. Many of them are struggling.
They’re forgetting things they made a note of that morning, walking down the same aisle they’ve browsed three times already, and making many impulse buys. There’s time, money, and gas down the drain, and they still don’t have all the food they intended to buy. This whole seat of the pants thing isn’t working. It’s time to think of a plan of action. You don’t have to use your smartphone to help you remember things, but, you know, it works.
These five Android apps could be what you need to get control. 1) When it comes to shopping lists, pen and paper can get the job done, but they can require rewriting the same items down every time you go shopping, and if someone thinks of something for you to pick up while you’re out, the best they can do is call and ask.
With Buy Me a Pie!, your list changes as your needs do. The app saves items for future use, and colorful tags help you keep everything organized. Separate food from the cleaning supplies, or if you really want to get specific, demarcate the produce from the spices, drinks, and frozen goods.
2) If you want something that looks at home on Lollipop devices, add Bring! to your list. The developers have managed to create something that You may have heard about Android L and Material Design, but what exactly is this new design philosophy and how will it affect Android and other Google products? while still sporting its own sense of style. Not only that, Bring!

All you have to do is tap on one to add it to your list. Syncing is available, but to create multiple lists and share them with others, you need to create an account. Fortunately, you can do that for free. Two features help set it apart.
You can easily add items by scanning their barcodes. This lets you insert multiples at once relatively quickly. Grocery IQ provides you with a list of products on which you can save money.
You tap the ones you like to “clip” them, which adds them to your list. From there you can email them to yourself, print them out, and use them at the store. While Buy Me a Pie!
Aim for simplicity, Grocery IQ allows for more depth. You can add prices, weight, quantities, and other descriptive qualities to each item.
Download: Grocery IQ for Android 4) Our Groceries is more basic than the previous apps, but it isn’t without its merits. You have two kinds of lists: Shopping Lists and Recipes. The latter doesn’t actually provide you with instructions and measurements.
Instead, it lets you store lists of items you need to make your favorite dishes. Tapping on any of these adds them to your shopping list.
In effect, this kills two birds with one stone. You know what you need to make dinner, and you actually remember to buy it. Aside from that, you can group items and assign colors that help you tell things apart. The app will learn from you over time and prompt you to re-enter words you type often. You can share lists via email, SMS, and other apps, but it’s not the active syncing you get elsewhere.
Download: Our Groceries for Android 5) We’ve Out Of Milk Shopping List looks a little like a regular to-do list, and indeed can be used as one if you wish, but it really excels at looking after a shopping list for you., but three years have passed since then. Unsurprisingly, the app has received a visual overhaul. It doesn’t look entirely at home next to Google apps, but it’s close enough. The functionality remains rock solid, and there are numerous reasons to check out this app in particular. Its pantry list supplies a place to keep track of the stuff you already have, which can help you determine what you need even when you’re not at home digging through the shelves.
When it comes to saving money, Out of Milk provides an extensive list of coupons. Not only that, it keys in to local retailers in your zip code. It even lets you browse by store. This makes it perhaps the best recommendation for folks wanting to shrink the size of their receipts. Download: Out of Milk for Android Honorable Mentions The apps on this list serve as relatively comprehensive shopping companions.
But if you want to save money in particular, there are ways to expand upon what these apps offer. Lets you scan barcodes and compare prices. Provides a constant supply of coupons. Both serve as cost-cutting complements to the shopping list apps above. For the record, you don’t need to a get a dedicated grocery app for your shopping trips. There’s a good chance your smartphone came with an app for keeping notes.
Using that should at least cut down on the likelihood of you forgetting to bring your shopping list to the store.
